      Hughjaas 90g

I got tired of my 24g cube pretty quickly and upgraded to a 40g. I wasn't really happy with it and it didn't even last long enough for me to take pictures before I upgraded to a 75g. After a couple more months that thing had a skimmer, an Aquaclear 70, a Phosban reactor and chiller pipes all hanging off the back. The tank wasn't drilled and there wasn't any way to put a sump in the stand so it was time again for a new tank.

Last month Wanaleime (Dennis) gave me an awesome deal for a 90g with a stand and sump. Fortunately I still had the 40g sitting around so it was easy to transfer everything into that, slide the 70g and stand out and then slide the 90g in it's place. It took about 2 hours and everything survived the transfer just fine.

      the 75g before the transfer:

I also didn't like looking at the side of the sandbed and the band of algae and gunk that grows all the way around the tank so I piled the sand up in the back and made it slope down to the front and sides and then put the rockscape on top of that. I get the benefits of the sandbed and the clean look of an almost bare bottom.

here's some pics of the 90g after the transfer:

I've broken this acro from Bpro32 a bunch of times and the pieces just grow wherever I put them:

thanks a lot for your comments everyone! I'll post more pics as things start growing out.

one other thing that might help out some others setting up a tank- the stand I got had some water damage on the bottom, so I sanded it down and put these adhesive vinyl tiles down. working great so far:

the tiles were .40ea at home depot and simple to install. you just score it with a knife and it snaps apart.

right now I'm running the Nova Extreme 54w T5's (2 UVL 10k, 1 ATI Blue Plus and 1 UVL Super Actinic). I bought a MH/PC fixture I haven't set up yet- need to get some timers or a controller.

I get inspired by your tank and pics. I use the original canon 100mm macro (I think same one as you).

      thanks for looking!
      Darryl
